Description

By Henrik Overstam and Magnus Jarl, Orebro University, Sweden
2003

FEM and experimental results were used to study the validity of simpler analytical methods such as Siebel’s equation. Some of the results were plotted as a function of the so-called delta parameter. This makes it possible to comprehend how the amount of inhomogeneous deformation affects, for example, residual stresses and drawing force. The result shows that the finite element models correspond very well with the experiments, as does Siebel's equation within a certain interval of area reduction.
