TIMETALÒ LCB (a low cost beta titanium alloy) was introduced more than 10 years ago targeting non-aerospace applications such as automotive suspension and valve springs. The most recent development effort has been focused on the establishment of low-cost processes including melting, conversion, and wire processing. Extensive metallurgical and mechanical tests have been conducted to optimize properties of wires such as automotive springs. Various mechanical and environmental tests for automotive springs and the processing of wires have been generated.
