With the recent advancements in the semiconductor and precision machines industry, the demand for straightness in superfine wire has been increasing year by year. This paper considers improving straightness of superfine wire using a tensile straightening machine. It also proposes a new method for measuring residual stress using FIB that can quantitatively measure axial residual stress in superfine stainless steel wire.
