The influence of friction, which decides the metal flow character in the wire flattening process of round wires during rolling, has not been precisely determined. In this work the round wire flattening process has been performed with diameters in the 2-5 mm range manufactured from low carbon steel for cold rolling process; rolls diameter 60 mm, reduction in the pass 15 to 30 percent. The flattening of wires has been performed without lubricants and with lubrication by oil emulsion or oil itself. Results of this study make it possible to determine the influence of friction parameters on this process.
