Friction, lubrication and wear are among the major concerns of many researchers worldwide, who are attempting to understand and optimize the tribology system and consequently to increase the efficiency of the process, reduce costs and increase quality. In wiredrawing, studies investigate how to achieve a separation of the wire and die surface by a thick or thin fluid film so as to reach a viscous friction shear condition. This paper shows the importance of a laboratory high-speed single die block wiredrawing machine as an instrument to develop information to study wiredrawing tribology.
